05 F250 PS what too look for

Hi, new here looks like a good forum, I see that there are a few topics already about this, but I need a first hand opinion.I'am looking at a 2005 f250 6.0l PS it has 100,000km and the only thing done to it is a 6" lift other than that it is stock.I read about alot of problems about the 6.0l motor but I have read a fair share of good points.I'am kinda leary about the motor but everything seems fine with the truck, it's just like new.If I do get the truck is there anything that should be done to it asap to prevent problems from appering?

OK First pull the oasis report on the truck look to see what was wrong with it in the past, should have the history of it, if it had warranty work done on it.

Second if you purchase it, to fix some of the problems go ahead and do away with the EGR system, Get yourself a SCT that will shut off your EGR Valve, and get a EGR delete kit few out there. That will help with most of the usual problems. Invest your money in Diesel Site coolant filration sys, and the basics intake and exhaust.

If its got problems get them fixed, look for the rear main seal, oil all over the turbo sometimes comes from the CCV, but look for excessive amounts. Look at the coolant bottle so see if there are any junk build up in it. That should cover the basics.

Thanks, most of the problem with the 6.0l is caused by the EGR system? What about the head studs, should I buy the truck should I leave them stock or upgrade asap.

Looked at it seems like a good truck, just not ready to dump $3000 into it if something goes wrong.
