Advice Needed

Hey guys I've been looking at a 2004 F-250 4X4 with 154K miles. Here is what the guy listed on the truck:

ppe power tuner
k&n air filter
RBP Turbo back exhaust
Billet grill
Dual Blsteins up front
Tow Brake controller
Moto Metals on 35" all terrains
Lund soft toneau cover
Viper Motion Alarm
Stereo system negotiable

Replaced turbo and head studs
New batteries
New FICM and Fuel pump

154k miles

Very clean truck

Tuned at 400 hp and 750 lb torque
Runs Great

I asked the guy and he said he replaced the turbo and head studs to avoid the problem earlier. What else should I ask? How are the mods he listed? I'm a mustang guy so I'm pretty new to the diesel things but I want to find a good truck that I can depend on.

Thanks!

Send a message via Yahoo to Dave
How long was the PPE on it? Those tuners are extremely hard on the transmission.

I'll ask him that...thanks for the heads up! What should I be looking for in the 04's? I read Diesel Power's article about the most common problems but are there any others I should be looking for?

With 154K miles, what normally needs to be replaced with that many miles on these trucks?

What are the best intake/filters for these trucks? I'm not sure what studs but that's just a question away. We're just in the e-mail stages to see if I want to get serious about this truck. More help the better from you guys because my diesel knowledge is limited at this point!

Thanks guys

Best intake for a 6.0 without Inj's is a stock one.
Get a SCT with Cales tunes..only choice IMO
I'd check the intake track for signs of sand-dirt

Will do. He said the repairs were done before he bought the truck so he isn't sure what studs they used. He says he has a lot of different cars so he really doesn't drive this one a lot. He also said the ppe is tuned very mild and got a custom tune from ppe in fullerton.
