Pro Comp Traction Bars???
Well I need some traction bars pretty bad and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions, good or bad on the Pro Comp ones? I was looking at the Fabtech ones, but they were close to $800? They are full floating and I don't think the Pro Comp ones are? Not even sure what full floating means? I just want something to take care of my axle wrap...Thanks in advance

You can make a killer set by just buying some threaded heim joints and tubing and fabbing your own.

I have ProComp ones and they seem to work fine.

When you bought yours did they come with everything needed to install them?

They were installed on the truck when I bought it two years ago. It's the bar, the brackets, the bushings and the hardware. I'd have to say "yes" after looking at it.

Do you know what full floating is? I called 4 Wheel Parts and they recommend the Fabtechs because they have that?

Fabtech uses an inverted shackle at the upper frame mount to make it a floating bar.
I suppose it sounded like a good idea, but it does have its downfalls and it will bind up as well. IMO, the best option is One UP Offroad. I run them on my 07 and love them.....and we have sold many, many sets. Since you have a short bed you can go with a 64" fixed bar and to keep the cost down, a weld on axle bracket: One Up Offroad Fixed Weld-On Traction Bars - 1999-2008 F250/350 Short Bed & Excursion - Rear Traction Bars - Truck Toyz Store |
