Sorry for the delay. I'm confident it'll fit w/o the leveling kit. The point that it is closest to rubbing is lowest point of the fender liner (near the firewall)... and the front suspension compresses (like it would be w/o out the leveling spacer on the coil spring) it would actually move the axle forward... increasing the clearance to that low point on the fender liner.

I occasionally take my truck off road and I've never had my tires rub the fender liner... except one time when I had removed the liner and not gotten back into place properly. Once I heard it rub it was a super easy fix.

No way to say with absolutely certainty until you talk to someone already running that combo... but my guess is yeah.

The first time I put the 305/70R17's on my truck I was concerned about fitment issues... my tire shop told me not to worry, that if there was any issue they'd pull them right back off and get me a size that did fit. Find yourself a friendly local shop to take the risk out of trying a larger size.

I was told not to go wider than a 70 series tire because of how narrow the rims are. I'm planning on some BFG Mud Terrains in a 285/70/17 when mine finally wear out. Like Swilson 143 said, find a friendly tire shop and try them on.

70 refers to the height. The first number is the width (285, 305, etc)... then the next number is the height, but in the form of a percentage if I remember right. So if your tire is a 285/70, then the width is 285, and the height is 70% of 285. I'm sure someone will correct me if I explained it wrong.

You're probably correct. I'm just wanting to go a little wider and taller. I would like to take a little edge off of the 3.73's and get a little more highway speed with less rpm. Mostly, I'm trying to avoid buying rims.
