they're artificially raising prices right now. the US is the biggest consumer of oil and we're all broke! i'm surprised that the country is sustaining $70/barrel oil honestly.

i'm honestly surprised that people are not rioting. the way the economy is, oil should be no more than $30/barrel if not lower. but i guess thats what happens when america is brainwashed and cares more about who's going to win american idol rather than pay attention to their country going down the toilet.

Just seems funny to me - Speculators got us into this.....no wait....they contributed heavily toward us getting up to $14#.00 a barrel before....Now that the economy is "HINTING" at recovery, these...uh...individuals........are at it again.

Let's see oil goes up, gas goes up, people drive less, business drops of at restaurants, retail stores, movie theatre, people quit buying cars, put home improvement projects on hold...... Sound familiar???? What's the saying.....Those who don't learn from History are doomed to repeat it? But in this case, "THEY" want to drag us along with them.....

Read, Mark Levin's book "Liberty and Tyranny" a conservative manifesto.

They recieve the monies from the extravagant taxes that are imposed on the oil companies. Something like 4 cents of every dollar is profit for the oil company, the rest goes towards taxes, transporting, refining etc. I'll double check my numbers when I get home

I read that book. Tax records indicate that the oil companies (love em' or hate em') pay a boat load in taxes.

Another outstanding book to read is Amity Shlaes "The Forgotten Man". It is unbelievable how the current administration is going down the same road that that lead us from a depression to a great depression.

This administration should sit down and read it. But, as arrogant as they are, they would more than likely just say "It will be different with us".

After I'm done reading this one, I'm going to read "Road to Serfdom" by Freidrich Hayak (sp?). It's supposed to be a lot like the book you're talking about Craig, but was written in 1944

I got a bunch of books for my birthday

The Patriot, by Brad Thor
The Revolution, by Ron Paul
Road to Serfdom
And another one I can't remember the title to on 4 hours of sleep, something about survival

I will post after I finish them
