The government is throwing away money faster then I can make it. They are not going to help out GM. GM is going down the toilet. No bail out for them. Chrysler had a chance but the court rejected the offer that Fiat take over the successful parts of Chrysler. So Chrysler may be going in the toilet too.

Everyday people are being laid off, or being completely terminated. If you live in Michigan did you hear the meeting that Dingle had with the UAW. John Dingle who in my mind would have been a good canidate for President. Told the UAW what needs to be done to keep the American Auto Industry Alive. But is anyone in DC listening to him. Nope at all.

I have said it several times. We are in Depression. But the stupid Economists refuse to accept that.

What needs to be done. America needs to get back to work.

Well if jobs are not being created and companies are not investing into our local communities. Well then the Government needs to act like Roosevelt did. Start goverment funded projects. Build damns for hydro-electric power, rebuild the roads, rebuild the pipelines for water and sewer.

Once the government starts investing into the country. Then we can get back to stability.

Forget about those third world countries that don't know what it is like to have electricty or running water. Forget about world peace because it will not happen. Look at world history. Empires came and left, they were over thrown by another.

Until we get a President with similar Ideas as Roosevelt, basically saying forget the others lets take care of ourselves. We will be hurting, not as individuals but as a whole.

But guess who will not be asking for Government hand outs. If you don't know look at the countryboys.
Oops, I know Scott did not mean that.

Scott, FDR is the reason we are where we are now, not a good philosophy. I think you meant to write "let the private sector work it's magic, and the markets will correct themselves".

GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE ANSWER, BY ANY MEANS.

Choctaw, I know some of the things FDR did. Social Security for one. Is the reason we are in the position we are in. How ever a lot of what FDR did when in office is what helped turn this country around.

How ever WWII had a lot to do with putting America back to work as well.

I don't actually find what FDR did was wrong. What I find wrong is the runners of the Government allowing the abuse of the things put in place by FDR.

While I agree that the results of the new deal were good. I.E. roads, damns, R.E.A. It had little or nothing to do with getting the economy back on track

So, Govt. handout programs are good? Even though they are being abused.

Scott, it is NOT the Federal Govt's. job to help me or you, other than for National Defense. SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Agri. Dept., etc. are examples of programs gone bad that are not guaranteed by the Constitution.

It's a ruse that FDR put into place and has been sold to us years later. No cradle to grave for me..............

At 2.00, oil companies will be making plenty of money and the consumers will be happy. Hell, even 2.50 would be fine.
