The upset in Isreal is the reason for the scare on supply thus sending oil prices up but the experts are saying that won't last. Don't panic.

we have an "expert" that said fuel prices are going to go up because of the driving season that approaches.. they did say that we can expect prices to reach the $3 mark but not to worry cause it will not go past that, by much.... yeah right. i call BS......

Yes, the summer season always has an effect on fuel but the oil flow out of troubled countries has immediate knee jerk effects on oil prices.

I topped off last night for 1.97 but saw another station that had gone up 10 cents to 2.09.
There is still oil tankers setting idle offshore full of oil because they can't sell it right now.

Might be time to fill my #2D 500 gallon tank here at the shop.

I dont have heat unless I fill the d, or k powered heaters.

The bobcat also runs on #2.???

What to do? I hate for it to go bad also. That is alot of fuel.

Bill

Fill it! Diesel won't go bad fast...how long will 500 gal. last you?
Also you can add some biocide to it to make it last alot longer.

i believe gas will float around $1.50 this year after this BS overseas calms down. And Diesel, i would hope would drop to $1.00 which is below gas where it belongs. but we'll see. They're still predicting the price per barrel to drop to around $25/barrel. so we'll see what happens in 2009. I'm a strong believer in the fact that gas over $2.00/gal is gone. we'll see how the obama administration handles these things...

Where to get the biocide?

As far as your question goes it varries. When we have lots to do with bobcats it uses a tank a day or two if it is long days. If working in shop and using heaters when it is really cold about 10 gall in 8 hours. Not alot going on these days and now it is just me,and no one else. So probably just 5-8 gallons a day or as little as 20 gallons a week.

I just called Hample Oil to find daily cost of #2, they uoted 2.01 for 500 gallon and 2.06 for 100 gallons.

I think I might just say F it all, send back the tank and use the 100 gallon I made and go to the coop my self. What a mess.

Actually just looked here....Kansas City Map Gas Prices - Find the Lowest Kansas City Gas Prices on a Map

D #1 is only 1.98 at Sams club.

Off to load the 100 gallon tank and get on it.

Later.

Bill
