diesel cheaper than gas!

stopped in Lexington, KY, when I saw gas for $3.99, and diesel for $3.82.

Boy, I was one smug sumbuck while I was filling up. Definitely the only person smiling at the pumps today. Even left the engine running while I did it.

I heard an oil exec the other day saying diesel will never be cheaper than gas AGAIN. Guess I won't trust that SOB anymore.

me too gas 3.99. diesel 3.98. i did the same thing smiled the hole time i pumped. then when i was picking up pizza. this guys come in bi**hing bout gas going up 50 cents over night.. i told him mine didnt. haha

I don't think it's a permanent thing, just the gasoline market being more volatile than diesel. It'll catch up in a few days.

All the same, I'd like to know why diesel got expensive a couple of years ago. I've heard it was additional taxes, and I've heard that it was a change at the refinery that allowed more gas and less diesel to be made. I also noticed that over in Europe, diesel is cheaper than gas.

That's mostly why, but also the demand for diesel has grown just like gasoline, and you can only get a small percentage of diesel out of a barrel of crude. The smart people in the world know that diesel engines are way more efficient than gas engines , so the demand for diesel has surpassed the demand for gasoline as far as the percentage of growth worldwide.
It's really all a bunch of bull. If we would get rid of the Sierra Club and the rest of the green wackos we could go back to normal diesel with straight pipe trucks and everybody would be alot happier

Thats weird...diesel is 3.96, and gas is still only 3.58 here in Rochester, MN...

Its real nice up here. diesel 3.99 gas is up to 4.20 and im takeing every chance to rub in my gasser friends faces.

i've got you all beat diesel 3.86 gas 4.59 man i no its still to high but i love being able to say why would you buy a gas motor cause gas is more than diesel
