I wouldn't run red in the truck until you know which red it is. There's off road, which can either be ULSD of LSD dyed red. Even LSD in an 08 shouldn't be bed. You'll only get that if the pump you buy from says OFF-ROAD DIESEL!! if you buy HEATING OIL, you're buying unregulated diesel. No cetane rating (worse mileage) and tons of sulfur, which could kill the engine. I think that's where the stories of 6.4s failing comes from.

FYI: It's illegal to run heating oil in any diesel engine. It's only legal for heating use.
