Mexico for Diesel?

I was talking for a truck accessory and fabricator in town and he is saying people here in Del Rio,TX are buying truck tanks so they can drive the 3 miles across the border for Diesel because its still in the $2.XX range. Does anyone know the prices in Mexico, and how legal this is?

I am sure if you brought 55 or 275 gallon barrels back they would, but having a 120 gallon transfer L tank in your truck isnt a bad idea.

It is $2.05 in Mexico right now but if you get diesel from there the tank has to be bolted to your truck. If not they will not let you cross it.. About a month ago it was $1.95 a gallon!!

You've got to be kidding me! For that cheap I'd rent a tanker truck.... Anybody have any guess as to why Mexicans are paying so little compared to us, some of us who live just a few miles away at that???

not sure why its cheaper but remember that in mexico the government controls ALL the gasoline stations.. it is PeMex. and all prices are the same no matter which station you go to around the country.

The same tankers that unload diesel here in the US go and unload in Mexico too...its the same quality. All the truckers around here go fill up in Mex. because its so much cheaper.
