contacted congress

i contacted michigan congress a few days ago to pitch a b!tch about rising fuel prices. well i got a bulls#@t email today from her and this is what it said. just thought some of you would get a kick outta it.

Thank you for contacting me in regards to your concerns dealing with
gas prices. I always appreciate hearing from my constituents on issues
that are of importance to them.

As the last year ended and the current one began, gas prices have
continued to increase. The primary factor regarding the rising gas prices
is America’s reliance upon foreign oil. It’s a sad truth but
happily, one that can be ended.

I support the reduction of domestic demand upon foreign oil through a
utilization of all available resources to us. We must begin drilling
for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and invest in
emerging technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells, ethanol-powered vehicles,
and renewable energy resources.

I continue to hope to motivate Congress to support further alternative
fuel research. By encouraging this type of research, our nation will
keep working to decrease our reliance on foreign oil.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I always appreciate hearing from my
fellow Michiganians on issues about which they are concerned. Your
input helps me do a better job representing the people of the Tenth
District. If I may ever be of any assistance to either you or your family,
please do not hesitate to contact me. I also encourage you to visit my
website at Candice Miller 10th District District to keep up with what is
happening in Congress, and to learn more about the services my office can
provide to the citizens of Michigan.

On a good note,at least she sounds supportive of drilling for our own sources.

i agree, those gd tree huggers are not letting us drill up there because of a few species of animals that might go extinct, the dinosaurs have been extinct for some time now and we havent missed them at all. we need to start drilling before the next admin gets in office. i heard McCain say he absolutely eill not drill up there and that is crap. there are 2.5 billion barrels of oil up there(according to FOX news) we need to stop importing foreign oil

I love how these guys think ethanol is the great cure-all. Nobody seems to pay attention to the fact that it takes more energy to manufacture most types of ethanol than the produced ethanol gives up. Why use a gallon and a quarter of gasoline to produce a gallon of ethanol? Just doesn't make sense.

I wonder if the farm lobby has anything to do with the political success of ethanol...nah, our government couldn't be THAT mercenary...ha!
