I read on one of the trucking forums that they are trying to put together a strike, but its not that easy. Cause there are guys "independents" that drive that are making good money and wouldn't strike. Hey redstroker, be careful with that dyed fuel man. I would hate to see ya get a fuel check and go to the clink or have to pay around 10g's in fines for running non taxed fuel.

This story provides a very good explanation as to what is happening. ( and yes the oil companies rake in a huge profit as well)
Oil jumps to a record near $104 as dollar drops - USATODAY.com

If anyone is to blame....its the american consumer that insists on buying products from countries that have a trade deficit with US.The dollars have to be invested somewhere!

Lower Michigan, so I go to fill up the beater-Buick and see 2.85 and think "woohoo!" It's 2.99 everywhere else so I think "dang I bet diesel is cheaper today too, cool!" Go to the diesel pump and here is what I see:

Unleaded Regular: 2.85
Midgrade/Premium: obvious more like 3.05/3.35 im not sure
Diesel: 3.85

A full dollar per gallon more!!! Unreal! To fill up my car on empty, maybe $50 or so... the truck...omg.
