If I were an unethical businesss type...I would think like this:

Demand is a little low...people are driving less, no vacations etc....I'll drive the price up a few cents/gallon to recoup my losses due to demand.
Demand is rising...folks are driving more and going on trips etc....I'll drive up the price up a few MORE cents to gain an even higher profit b/c they are going to buy it anyway!

That make sense? Looks to me like that is what is happening, and it ticks me off!!!

fuel

Anybody happen to notice there is a war going on. That happens to dictate a lot of what goes on, like the vice president making
haliburton some more money or ole W making him some too.

Yep-born and raised. The pic in my signature line was taken in Colliers Mills WMA just south of Reed Road. I live in South Jersey too, depending on who you talk to...lol From where I live (the very southern tip of Mercer County) I can walk one mile south and be in Burlington County (Bordentown) or one mile east and be in Monmouth County (Allentown). All the kids I went to college considered me South Jersey, but my buddy down in Mays Landing says I'm from Central

Pretty soon I might be moving to either Hunterdon or Warren, so then I'll be Northwestern

Increasing fuel prices

Does anyone know why the diesel fuel is staying in a specific range and not dropping like all the other fuels? Is the fact it is now "ultra low sulfur" affecting the price?
I just filled up at a Shell station for $3.03 per gallon which was higher than the 93 octane price. I told the station attendant that would be the last time I purchased fuel at that station due to them charging higher than 93 octane prices (for what ever good that would do). Anyone else experiencing higher than 93 octane prices????

Feel fortunate, diesel in my market is selling for $3.24.9 today, regular unleaded gas is selling for $2.69.9 (premium is selling for $2.99.9), simple math suggests a 55 cent difference. There are many interesting sites on the web that deal with this very subject but I liked the one from a gas station owner in Maine best. He says that since regular gasoline is usually always under price pressure, they try to make it up on diesel.
Another factor is #2 diesel is nothing more that heating oil and since there are lots of homes and businesses stocking up on heating oil this time of year, supply and demand takes over.
When one oil executive was asked why diesel was so high he said "cause they will pay it" and thats the bottom line, "we will pay it" and since we can't pass fuel costs along to the consumer like truckers can, we really get to pay it.
