leary of a station?

You ever see a station that has SUPER low prices and wonder what the catch is? There is a station locally that's not a chain and has the lowest diesel in town. Like .50¢ cheaper than everyone else. Its about 10 miles from the house but on a 30 gal fill up it maybe worth my time. I'm Leary about the quality of fuel though. I've asked around a lot and no one i can find uses or has heard of the place.

What would u do? Fill one tank and see how she does? Filler up and let her eat or run like hell?

I would fill up a gas can and see if theres water, and ask when they got fuel last.

there are only so many refineries I wonder where they get their fuel ?

Yea theirs one like that in my town but i have heard some stories about motors not running to good after filling up there, and having to ride it out till its gone and put good fuel in it. I never go there and tell people not too either, its a gamble who knows try a little and c what happens.

There was a station in town that was like that and whenever we used it our cars cold started pretty rough. We just go with the tried and true even if its a bit more expensive.

I usually Hit up shell they actually post that their diesel has 40 cetaine rating

The last time I filled up at a place such as the one you are describing, I had HORRIBLE issues because the fuel was loaded with water. It was so bad that I couldn't drive a mile down the road without having to drain my fuel-water separater.

actually EPA minimum is 40. most stations have about 41 shell averages 47


I as well avoid cheap stations and only go to big chains or a name brand company. I am a manager for a company who dominates any market of gas and fuel sales. i always buy our fuel cause it generally triples the amount of additives added before sale than any other station. NEVER has water and is normally the cheapest in town anyways. ( QuikTrip ) is the company if your curious.
