04, 6.0 f-250 fuel mileage
I got a 6.0 liter. I get 13.71 mpg. the truck has 117,000 miles. I want to know some tricks to get better mileage. Also what mods are best and I had a Ford rep tell me to put regualar ATF in the fuel tank. He said 1qt for every 5 gallons. I have done this. He said it would help keep the injectors clean. I did notice it smooths out the idle. My question is will it hurt the fuel pump? I have worked on engines along time and ATF cleans stuff really well. But I think it might be to well. I would think it might strip away the oil found in the fuel. Any thoughts?
