2008 ford powerstroke (atrocious fuel aconomy)

I have a 2008 f350 6.4L diesel crew cab long box 4x4. And right now im sitting at a fuel economy of 24l/100km (9.8mpg) empty!! and thats driving on on a highway going 110kmh at a constant velocity for around an hour. When im hauling a 1ton load of pellets for my fire place my fuel economy drops even more to 29l/100km (8.1mgp) I have no clue why im getting such terrible fuel efficiency but im just wondering what problems may have lead/contributed to this problem?

is there any other way? because i still have 2 more years on my warranty and right now i dont want to scratch it. Some of my friends have the exact same truck (without any mods, all stock... so same as mine) and there getting anywere between 12-18l/100km empty. Could my dpf system be pugged up from the soot? or could my egr be broken?

That is Bad!! My 6.4 is stock and getting 14.2mpg in town and hwy, I have just above 78,000 maybe a couple hundred mile more.. but leaning toward a dpf/cat with tuner real soon.
A friend of mine keeps his foot to the pedal and has bad fuel milage...

Ya my 6.4 is stock aswell, and it has 53000 miles on it. I have no idea why it would be getting such terrible fuel economy? mabe i should get it into the shop and see whats going on, idk? but all my buddys have the same type of truck that i do and there getting half the mileage that im getting. And im planning to tow a newly bought 30 foot fifth wheel camper for the summer. But im not sure i can pull it. When i was pulling a 1ton load of pellet's it felt like I was driving a regular gasoline truck.

I have 32K on my 250 and still all stock, for this week. Just drove 1100 miles to Arizona and averaged 14.8mpg total. This makes me sick compared to my '02 duramax and '01 cummins I had. I love the super duty truck though, so I'm not giving up. I'll be doing a DPF/CAT delete and tune (probably mini maxx) in a couple weeks for sure. This $3.50 a gal price is killing me.
