I drive to Anchorage, Alaska just about every summer to be with our kids, start mid May and return in mid September... Check out this web site

Use the "Trip Cost Calculator" it gives you the US Dollar price and the Canadian price in Gallons/Liters.. What kind of range do you have? If possible avoid Ft Nelson, BC and Beaver Creek, Yukon Territory they are the two highest along the highway but would take a huge tank to miss Fort Nelson as a fuel stop and they know it and skin you alive on fuel prices.... Be sure to plan your fuel stops! Canada doesn't put a gas station on every street corner like we do.. BC still believes in full service, they pump the fuel and clean your windshield for ya... Be sure to get Canadian money even if it is even across the board, I have ran across a couple stations that would not take US Dollars or Credit cards and had to pat cash in Canadian money... Both were in Whitehorse Yukon Terr... Most Canadians are beautiful people, I love them but have ran across two ***-holes in driving it the last 41 years..i I been driving the alcan since 1969. I lived in Fairbanks and Anchorage for 25 years and retired there... Now live in Texas.. I have a fuel log someplace around my desk her from last year if I can find it.. It is a beautiful trip, loads of wild life along the highway at times...What are you driving?
