I've paid 5.25 a gallon for diesel last year. I just watched my driving and only made trips when necessary or I consolidated my trips so I didn't back track anywhere. I won't get rid of my truck ever because of diesel prices. Ill just buy a light blue prius... haha

They will pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel when it comes time to sell my truck and I do not mean suicide.

The question was what price will cause you to get rid of your truck and not what did you pay for fuel last year.

I'd say $10.00 per gallon may make me look at putting it back to stock. Not before!

With my current truck I figure that I get about twice the fuel mileage with my diesel than I would with a gas truck with comparable performance so I won't sell it and buy a gas rig unless the diesel prices are twice the gas prices.

The question gets more complicated when I start to think about replacing it due to age and mileage. It's scheduled for replacement in 2011. If the mileage on stock diesels still sucks then I might need to think about a gas motor but I'm hoping that they'll have switched to an urea system by then so the mileage will be back up where it belongs.
