I'm considering picking up an old '94 f-250 with 116k miles. I've had a few gassers before but not the 460, and i'm doing a little research. The motor looks a little wet on the oil pan, but I didn't get in there to close to see exactly where and how bad its leaking. Also the tires (i'm assuming) have been rotated to the back, and it has excessive tread wear on the outside. It has an old, about a 6 inch suspension lift. The rest of it looks great. If you guys may have some advice about common issues with the engine, tranny, or any other things that would be awesome. There is a link below, thanks!!

I had an 88 ford with a 460 (pretty much the same truck) with a 5 speed manual and beat the pizz out of it, not the most powerful truck ever, the engine really got choked down for emmisions. Is it auto or manual? I think the pan and rear mains were pretty common to leak. If its got a cat on the exhuast, removing or gutting that helps quite a bit
Also the tire wear can come from the lift on the front if the axle drop bracket isnt correct for the lift. IF you can post some pictures of it. |

This is an automatic. I'd have to do something about the cat assuming its got one on there.
