Overdrive light blinking
I have a 99 F250 5.4 gas with automatic transmission. The overdrive light on the shift lever began flashing. Sometimes after the vehicle warms up it stops flashing. I took it to a shop and when they scanned it they determined that a sensor inside the transmission was giving false information. It was telling the transmission it was -30F. At first they thought the sensor was available as an individual piece. However the only thing my mechanic could find was a solenoid body with the piece and that cost $350. Does anyone here have any insight as to where I might find just the part that needs replaced or the whole assembly at a little more reasonable price? The truck drives and shifts ok. I don't drive that far anyway so if I don't have overdrive it's not that big of a deal. I may just leave it the way it is. Thanks for any input. K
