i just picked up an 88 f-150 and i want to shoehorn either a 453 or 6v53 in there anyone done this or know of a site with some good info?

No, it was for sale on Ebay years ago and I just saved some pictures.

No offense, but I'd put a Cummins in it instead of the Detroit, it is a torquier engine, will get better milage and you can mod the hell out of it.

Hell no, go with the Detroit. I am a detroit fan to the end. But if I was going to go to all the trouble I would go for the 8V92 or 8V71 and keep the 6V for reserve. Best of luck to you!

i'm not in it for modding the engine, i'm in it because it's something i've wanted to do for a while

That's cool, to each his own, I've driven both 8V-92s and 6V-92s, the 6s are turds.
