Detroit diesel swap
i just picked up an 88 f-150 and i want to shoehorn either a 453 or 6v53 in there anyone done this or know of a site with some good info?

No offense, but I'd put a Cummins in it instead of the Detroit, it is a torquier engine, will get better milage and you can mod the hell out of it.

Hell no, go with the Detroit. I am a detroit fan to the end. But if I was going to go to all the trouble I would go for the 8V92 or 8V71 and keep the 6V for reserve. Best of luck to you!

That's cool, to each his own, I've driven both 8V-92s and 6V-92s, the 6s are turds.
