So I have this 1999 F250 gasser with the 5.4 in it. I have been fighting with the stupid EGR setup on this thing and I am tired of fooling with it. the truck is very sluggish and the mileage has fallen way down. I do not want to spend any money on the EGR or the DPFE parts that constantly cause trouble. So my question is can I delete this whole setup. Buying a blockoff plate and a cap for the tube is the easy part.
What will this do to the truck to have it removed? With the EGR valve removed this should keep all of the exhaust gases from pouring into the cylinders under load correct?
How will the truck idle. Will it still run okay?
Does anyone know of a way other than buying an expensive tuner to turn off the CEL. Is there a resistor or something that I can put into the plug that willkeep the light off?
