08 F-250 triton v-8

im looking at getting an f-250 v-8 gasser w/the 6 speed manual, and i would like to know how it compares to my current truck which is the GM 2500HD 6.0 vortec, i can get a smoking deal on the ford. My questions are gas mileage, towing power and overall comfort my main concern is the mileage, i pulled 19,360lbs my 2500HD 6.0 and i got 10.8mpg would the 5.4 be able to pull that kind of weight and get the same mileage?

I think if you are looking to tow something that heavy that you should probably be looking at a V-10.

The 5.4 with 4.10 gears will do it but with that kinda weight i would be more comfortable with the diesel.

Man your lucky I had a 2500hd with the 6.0 and 4.10 gears and couldnt get better than 10.5mpg empty

We had a girl deliver 2 cattle to my aunt and uncle's ranch and she got a 2500HD with the 6.0 Vortec and she only got about 6-7 towing a 20 foot gooseneck cattle trailer. She bought it because she had bad luck with her past 2 D-max's. I told her to get a PSD.

Really? My buddy has a V-10 Excursion and I drove it. My truck had way more power to it. But then again, his truck was 8 years older than mine.

i would stay away from teh V-10 unless you can afford to fill up every fdew days.. really... they eat a lot of fuel no matter if you drive them hard or easy......

Yea, I kept wanting a 6.0 but couldn't do it with all of the horror stories I heard. Then I was thinking about getting a 6.4 and didn't want to deal with all the hassle with warranty and what-not with doing the DPF/DOC Delete and tuning an all that. I love my truck, but I think I would rather have a PSD. That way I can throw on 37s and still get halfway decent mileage. 12 city/16 highway ain't too good in the Titan.

Ive had the v-10 and didnt like the mileage so i got the 6.0 vortec and i really like truck but its having electrical problems and i never had any problems with fords and i dont want the 6.4, What kind of mileage can i get the 5.4 6 speed
