Lets put it this way!

LS stands for Loves Service! I really like them in the aspect they look good, drive good, have good power and economy. They are a Jaguar in disguise. We have atleast 3-4 in the shop 8 hrs a day if that tells you anything. Pain to work on cuz they are very tight. We had one tech working on 3 AT THE SAME TIME today and 2 other techs each had one! I hate to say it but they are an electrical and mechanical nightmare! But they look good!

well that settles that then!! i refuse to buy cadillacs for those exact same reasons. plus the fact that caddy has yet to build an engine that doesn't leak oil before 30,000 miles.

see now that's a different story. the ls-2 and six speed makes that a sweeeet ride. plus the motor is in there the right way. but it's still caddy's mediocre electronics running the show. the no-star motors are just complicated crap boxes as far as i'm concerned.

id own an LS in a hearbeat. Some develope a few tranny issues, but considering how many are on the road down here, i dont think its a huge deal. The only real common problem ive seen with the v-8's is the valve cover gaskets leaking internally (you cant see it) into the spark plug holes and then the oil causes the coil (there is an individual coil for every cylender) to miss. It is very time consuming to fix but not really difficult at all if your patient. Other than that they IMO are very reliable cars with good power. Like jon said...even though i disagree with his opinion, they are a Jag S series with a ford body.......

i know exactly what you mean marc. we see stuff here in mn that the rest of the country never experiences. the stealership i'm at used to sell hyundai. decent car but their administration is a real headache to navigate. anyway, we were always told that we were the "highest in the nation" on this part and that part. they just refused to see that wheel bearings don't last up here and neither do fuel pressure regulators. we go thru those with gm like crazy and never here a word because they understand that some areas see different stuff than others.

hey marc, if i were to buy an ls on your recommendation, would you fly out here and fix it for me?
