05 F250 5.4 SCSB, from parts to driving.

Well here is the deal; Back in March 2013 I bought an all white 2005 F-250 XL Super-Cab Short-Bed 2wd A/T with a 5.4 for the 2005+ brake hardware to swap under my 2000 Excursion.
A man had it advertised on Craigslist with 311308 miles and a bad motor. It was still sitting at the shop when I bought it for $1700. I paid $75 to have it towed to my shop where I found a bad cyl 6 injector. I stuck a 21# injector in it out of a 01 P71, and chainged the oil. It turns out to be not to bad of a truck and the wife wants to keep it. So now I have in it:
$1700= Initial cost.

2000 Excursion Limited 2wd Mods:Removed luggage rack, Running boards, Body molding, rear wiper,& 3rd seat. Chrome 05 bumper & hooks, grill & headlights, & 08 rear bumper. IAH delete, Banks elbow downpipe w/ 4" exh. 1.0 turbine, BD wastegate, ATS housing, AIS intake, SRP1.1, FRX, HPX, IHI up-pipes, 6.0 IC & trans cool, 160/30 inj, TS chip. Lowered 4", C-notch rear, Dream Beams, 05 brakes& G springs, 3.55 axle, 265-50-20"s on 06 KR's. Cloth 40/20/40 front seats w/ JL 10". Future plans: tweeters.

I am also needing some stuff for it too, most of which I have posted in the wanted section here:

99-04 front ABS sensors.
08-09 center console front bracket.
05-07 H-D accelerator pedal.
08-14 Front door tweeters with harness.
08-14 Chrome rear bumper without B/U sensor holes.

Just 1 question, wtf made you wanna put stacks on a gasser?

Sweet score other than the $600 waist of stacks on a gas engine

I don't think stacks are Diesel specific. And I wouldn't call it a waist without hearing it. I have already cut the muffler off the 5.4 and it sounds mean. I think when I get the stacks on it will really scream! Personally I like the way they look, the same reason that anyone else has them.

I have decided to get the truck painted. 2013 "UH" Tuxedo black, with 2003 "TK" Mineral gray on the bottom.
Right now the bed caps are off the bed, and the bed off the truck. While the bed is off I am also swapping the rear brakes over to the 99-04 style.

What's the difference in the rear brakes? Thought they were sterling 10.50's and the exact same

Front & Rear track width changed in 2005.
The whole reason I bought this truck was to swap the wider 05+ brake parts (spindle, rotor, caliper, lines) onto my Excursion.
I have already swapped the front brake stuff between the trucks. Then I pulled everything (backing plates, hub, rotor, caliper, lines, cables) from the rear of this 05 and put on a stripped down 2010 3.55 rear I bought to go under the Excursion. Now I just need to put the 2000 Excursion rear-end back under this Pick-up.

2000 Excursion Limited 2wd Mods:Removed luggage rack, Running boards, Body molding, rear wiper,& 3rd seat. Chrome 05 bumper & hooks, grill & headlights, & 08 rear bumper. IAH delete, Banks elbow downpipe w/ 4" exh. 1.0 turbine, BD wastegate, ATS housing, AIS intake, SRP1.1, FRX, HPX, IHI up-pipes, 6.0 IC & trans cool, 160/30 inj, TS chip. Lowered 4", C-notch rear, Dream Beams, 05 brakes& G springs, 3.55 axle, 265-50-20"s on 06 KR's. Cloth 40/20/40 front seats w/ JL 10". Future plans: tweeters.

I got the Excursion rear-end under this pick-up today.
Now, this F250 project might get crazy tomorrow! I am thinking about shortening it 11". That will entail moving the axle forward 1", sliding the bed forward 1", and bobbing 10" off the rear.
