Fuel gauge stuck on full

So i decided to cut some doughnuts in my buddies pasture last night and snatched a friends toyota out of a mud hole. After that I noticed my fuel gauge was on full but it should have read 3/4. I've heard about the float getting stuck in the wires on the diesel trucks but I'm not sure if its the same on the gassers. My truck is a 1999 F350xl v10/5 spd, single cab 4x4 flat bed, cab and chassis model dually. Thanks in advance, just trying to weed out any other options before dropping the tank lol -Nick
