'00 F150 Intake Coolant Leak

My wifes 2000 F150 5.4 has the stupid intake coolant leak.
My question is, has anyone tackled this? I know I can do it but from reading it might be just the gasket, or the whole thing is cracked, or just a pinhole in a tube.
What should I do? Just get a new one or take it apart then decide what to do.

00' has the plastic upper intake which is prone to failure, it's pretty common. Seems a lot of people use the Dorman replacement without issue. However if you can find one from a 99' 5.4 F150, it's aluminum and matches the ports on your 5.4's PI heads.

Yea I knew the 99s were the good ones, but I'm sure good luck finding one.

Someone mentioned that they knew someone who uesd a Dorman in a 4.6 and wasn't good quality but who knows how accurate it was.
