Cool More power from a 4.6 V8?

Im new to the whole forum world and I was wondering if anyone might know how to get more power out of my truck. I have a 2002 F150 with a Triton V8 4.6, any suggestions would be a huge help.... Thanks

I believe that there is SCT tunes out there for the F150s also. I know they are availble for the Mustangs. Contact Eric at Innovative Diesel.... Billet Speed - Innovative Diesel Re-director

He also does some work for gassers I believe.

The SCT is the best way to go. They really don't have any custom tunes so canned tunes are your best bet. I would contact Gus at farmboy diesel. He has the best SCT pricing around. He is also a vendor on this forum so customer service is top notch.

We tune quite a lot of gasser trucks and have a couple ourselves. We can definitely help you out. Feel free to call, PM, or email.

Thanks!

I have a 99 4.6 expedition and somewhat regret doing addons for more power. Because in the end I'm still looking at getting a PSD because its just no power. I have a K&N intake, gibson swept side exhaust with stainless steel headers, and a superchips tuner. And it did a good amount for power, but my truck is just to heavy and lacks low end power. The few grand put into it I'd be better off putting into a PSD. I haven't dynoed it yet since I don't know of any but I'd put my numbers up in the 5.4L area. And I think it puts my milage up there too. Although getting a PSD is seeming to be farther away than I thought so they're helping with my withdrawal problems.

Specifically the intake gave me more high end power while the headers and exhaust(was done simotaneously) was more low end power.

Check on the supercharger kit from Roush, it gives the 4.6 and 5.4 engines the lowend torque that they need.

I had an 01 with pace setter headers with dual 2.25 inch strait pipes, K&n intake with larger mass air flow sensor, larger throtle body, 24lb per hour injectors, aftermarket coil packs, edge evolution tuner, and i shicanned the factory colling fan and got a dual electric set up wich freed up allot of power in the summer time.

suspension wise I got ORU torsion bar keys light duty 3/4 ton torsion bars (8 inches longer than half ton) and did a shockle flip in the rear, 285/75/16 mud tires and a rear locker and that truck was so much fun in the woods.
