2000 F150 5.4 Intermittent start
My almost wife's truck doesn't want to start when cold. I think fuel pump, cause you can't hear it sometimes, and if you smack the tank, if will usually work.
Does anyone know where the harness plug is to test voltage at? On top of tank? I figure I'll try a relay, and maybe that's it. If not, has anyone replaced the pump? |

could be the pump, probably not a relay. if it only does it cold or with weather change i would bet it is the fuel pump control module. they are mounted up above the spare tire and usually cause a hard start cold or long crank to start after driving in the rain or when temp changes a lot overnight.
worth a check before dropping the tank |

Yeah I'd suspect the pump since you said you sometimes can't hear it.
