f super duty e-brake

HI,I just ran across something interesting on the e-brake on the super duty
truck,my kid was checking on what it take fix the e-brake on his super duty,he called the local FORD parts dept. and asked how much they cost and he was told the electronic one was$1900.00 non electronic one was
$1200.00,is there a work around to fix this expensive problem,thanks
