Help diagnosing #5 cylinder misfire
Can anyone walk me through a diagnost for as #5 cylinder misfire?
I'm helping a friend. He has a 2006 Ford F250 Triton 5.4 L engine. HX:Truck idiling poorly/riding rough intermittently. Worse under load. black smoke gasoline smell from tailpipe #5 cylinder misfire code. Pulled the Coil from #5 and switched it with #1 also replace the #5 plug with oem replacement. The one pulled was dry carbon coated, but otherwise OK. Cleared codes, drove 25 miles, Cylinder 5 misfire again. Now what? Seems to me that if I can smell fuel then the injector is working?? |
