Question A little help needed!

Hey all,

I am at work on a 02 F350 dump (V10 chassis cab) with an ignition cyclinder that keeps sticking. Was really tight to turn, WD-40ed it, working better. But now every once and awhile it just locks. Like the steering lock is on, but it isn't. Wheel is loose, not locked. I have to jiggle the key around for a while to get it to turn.

I have the column open right now, how do I get the cyclinder out if possible without causing further damage? And if I do, anything I can look for easily or should I just consider replacing it?

It is one of two of our maintanence vehicles, I really don't want to send it out with my crew as is since we work in a 1100 acre state park. It would be a hike back to the shop if it locks up for good on them!

Ford has a DIY rebuild kit for the cyclinder. Just had to match up the pieces with the factory depth code and assemble.

The whole cause was the dinger lever was not being pushed out far enough and was hanging up on the cyclinder housing. $95 for the kit, and part of the morning for my time to diagnose/repair and drive time to pick up the parts. I just saved a good chunk of time and money instead of losing the truck to the dealer and paying them.
