White gunk in the oil cap

My boss has an 05 F-150 with the 5.4 80,000 on it.. He took it to the dealer ship the other day for an oil change and they told him he needs a new motor. He has a whiteish gunk all built up in his oil cap and around the filler neck. I would say its about the consistancy of a white lithium grease. The dealership really didn't know what it was. They suggested the and hose in the motor was clogged and it allowed condensation to build up in the motor. There was no sign of this at the last oil change 4,000 miles ago. He says it runs no different than it ever did. The motor does have a slight tap but he said its had it since the day he bought it. Any Ideas on this?

This is just condensation. He may need to change the oil more. Short trips add to this. If cold trips are frequent a hotter thermostat will help. My wife had a new fj cruiser. She had a 16km [10 mile] trip one way to work. This motor had huge build up in the oil cap.

^^^ what he said. Mine would get that occasionally. its just when the motor frequently doesn't get all the way warmed up.
