NEED INPUT FROM 6.2 SD OWNERS FOR TOWING
Everyone,
I'm looking at getting another truck this summer, but am all over the place, with the only certainty being I need an SD to pull my toy hauler. With the price of fuel, a gasser may make more sense, as the 6.2 is more than capable of pulling what I have. However, I do not know enough about them to make an educated decision. The added bonus is not having to deal with the emissions issues or complexity of the new diesels. Does anyone tow a fiver with a 6.2 out there? What's your opinion? Should I just bite the bullet and get the 6.7? I did find a screaming deal on an 06' V-10 but was gone before I could even get to the bank. For now I am looking at new. Thank you. |

IMO, keep searching for a V10, try to find one that is the 3V, 05 and up. If you can find a 08, Job 2, then they changed the spark plugs so that they are a one piece and not likely to break off in the heads.

What kind of mpg you get? I had an 99 v10 334,000 mIles I. Traded it in on my 6.4

With the factory tires and a tune, I have been getting about 14 unloaded. When I put my 35's under it, I'm expecting to get around 12.5-13.
