NP435 help
Just swapped one into my Jeep. Having trouble getting into 3rd all the way and staying in without holding it. Suspect that the shift tower didn't go back on quite right when I reinstalled it after stabbing the trans. I can hear it knocking like a gear is trying to engage as well when I slow down and throw it in Neutral. Reverse also makes a LOT of noise.
Probably needs a full re-build as well. I've heard it can be done without a press, how feasible is this? Any recommended rebuild kits? Novak's kit is $212.
Any input?
I'm good with a wrench and can read a manual, but I haven't done a trans rebuild before. I'm looking for another notch on my belt if this can be done at home in the garage.
