F-150 quesition

I am looking at a 1996 Ford F-150 single cab with the 5.0 auto and was wondering if it would be able to tow this RVTrader.com - 2001 Carson FUNRUNNER - Ad Number 792954

You need to know the trailer weight. I may be wrong, but depending on the rear end (3:73) I think they had a towing capacity of around 5800lbs. A reese style hitch does wonders for towing, and you should also check if the truck has Trans, cooler as well.

I would insatll a trans cooler before even buying the trailer. Also it would be a hitch style with stabilizer bars as well.

They have raised the towing capacities recently on the 150's My first truck was a 1 yo 1979 F-250 351M (No PS, No Air, with Granny gear) her name was "The Red Head" and she was ... you guessed it Red in color! It didn't have the towing capacity of my 2006 F150. They have a towing capacity of 9000lbs, and the new 2008 F150 has a towing capacity of 11000lbs according to the Ford website. In my opinion the 5.0 had a little more balls than the 4.6 as a truck motor anyhow. I like the low end torque that the 5.0 made. Again, I know what ford says about the 4.6 over the 5.0. I had two 95's, and a 97. I liked the 4.9 & the 5.0 better than the 4.6! I liked the 4.2 V6 better than the 4.6! If some of the old tech are here, I think they can tell you better, but as I stated above I do believe that the towing capatcity was around the 5800lb area.
