302 to 351 conversion
Tomorrow I may end up trading my 94 BMW for a 94 ford f150. It has the 302 motor in it, and was curious if the 351 drops right in plus and play style. So no wire harness butchering or anything. Just new block to the compartment and plug it in and drive.
If it's not this way, can someone tell me the difficulty level or if it would even be worth my time. Thanks Justin |

If you have to change anything, it should be minor. You do mean a 351 Windsor, right? |

You will have to change several things because the 302 runs on MAF (mass air) and the 351 has SD (speed density). It did not get MAF until 1996. There are a few Cali trucks that have 351 MAF. Its not really worth the swap unless the 351 is built or the 302 is trash. The 351 only has 10 more horsepower stock and the torque numbers are negligible.

Yes I mean a winsor. I was mostly curious about the wiring. I mean if I were ford and I were designing a wire harness I would make if universal for both v8 motors. The accessories bolting on a little different I kind of figured. I was just curious, because If I'm going to do up a truck motor, I may as well be playing with the 351 instead of the 302. More torque out of the 351. Thanks for the input. Appreciate it

Save the time and just do the top end of that 5.0. You will get great results with Heads cam and intake. I am not a gasser truck guy but im sure some tuneing will help it run just like a Mustang.
