2010 f450

Boss just bought a 2010 f450 with V10 and dump bed and the damn thing is get around 6-7 mpg.... anyone have any tips to help?

You can try to have it 5 Star tuned if you don't care about the warranty. Otherwise, it's the nature of the beast.

my buddy has a f250 SC/LB v10 and he gets about 8-10mpg empty. the V10 in general is a gas hog...thats why we have diesels and not V10s

How much does the truck weigh? I've got an '03 XLT F550 V10 and get 10-12. It's got a 14 ft flatbed and a 500 gallon sealcoat tank. I remember the weight being somewhere around 9,900 lbs.

If your Dumptruck is setup like my F550 dump, it should be somewhere between 11k-12k.

As for tips...don't pass a gas station

I would be laughing too, if it weren't so true! Fantom, your's is also a 2V motor versus all the emissions on a 3V, just like the newer diesels need emissions deletes to get better mileage.
