Hey guys(and least we forget, gals) Got an ongoing problem that I really need some help getting fixed. First, it's an '88 454(I know..chevy???) with a quadrajet 4bbl. This thing is a piece of junk..runs like crap, gets 4.65mpg and seems to be missing. Have to "jiggle" the gas to keep it running at low rpm, "caughs" back through the carb quite often going down the road so I'm kinda thinking that not only does the carb need adjusted/rebuilt, but timing might be a bit off as well. Vacuum lines, from what I could tell, all looked ok..no breaks or cracks. I'm kinda stranded and more than kinda broke and trying to get home(back to south Carolina area) and this thing is eating me alive in gas! I could sure use some help on getting this thing running, if not right, at least better. Am currently at the TA truck stop in LaFayette, La.(I-10, exit 101) and can be reached on my cell phone 843-441-5503. Can really use some help. Thanks, Howard.
