6.2 or 5.4 v8 work truck MPG
hey guys i was wondering what people were getting with a 6.2 or 5.4 utility or walk in utility truck loaded. preferably a 350 or 450. im in the market for a new plumbing truck and i really cant afford a newer diesel. im talkin about 04 and up 5.4. or 6.8 v10. MPG on either of the 3 engines, more so the 6.2, fully loaded DRW utility truck. if anyones got any input let me know

The 5.4s at work have been pieces of Crap, I'd go with the v10, they seem to get lots of good reports from owners.... it also couldn't be worse MPG than a 5.4 Gas guzzler but with better power.

i have a 5.4 van thats been pretty good. gets pretty crap mileage though. the vans overloaded and abused so i was wondering what a utility truck would get or a v10, or the new 6.2. either way i was only wondering but my 5.4 has been good

6.8 V10 would be better if you're getting a 350 or 450 DRW.
Why not try finding an older 7.3 dually? The OBS Super Duty (OBS gen's F450) might not be bad pricewise. |

yeah i thought of that too but i need somethin a little newer and myabe a 6.0, but if i got it there would be too much work id have to do, EGR delete, bulletproof oil cooler upgrade and then have some head studs and injectors on hand. so im lookin more into gassers, if anyone could tell me the MPG, and yeah its a 350 or 450 DRW truck.

My dad has a 2008 V10 E350, the power is great, and I hear its even better for the trucks (for some reason they do the power different), but I do know on the Van the mileage Sucks big time, the thing only gets 12.5-13mpg all around. But I hear the new 6.2s are getting better mpgs than the V10s by a lot.
