FIRST ACCIDENT.... pictures

I'm still a little pissed but here's the story. I just had my prom last friday because it's my last yr of high school, and I'm having the graduation ceremony this friday. We haven't had school for about a week n a bit and we just had to come in for 9:00 to write a stupid french exam. I even decided to leave early because of traffic. About 5 mins from my house I get onto the main boulevard that goes to the highway and there's a bit of traffic. I get behind this brand new hyundai (which still seems like a piece of crap to me but wtv) and were going slowly. it was a combination of me looking to get into the middle lane and her slamming on her brakes like a moron and boommm I hit her.

I rush out raging (in the moment thing) but then I saw it was a middle aged women in business clothes so I toned it down a bit... long story short she didn't wanna even hear the story how it was the last day of school or wtv. She took down my info, called me in the afternoon saying the dealer said that all sorts of crap was misaligned and whole bunch of other stuff, and its gonna be at least 3 grand...... I offered to take her to my friend who has a body shop down the street but she didn't want to later..

I'm 17 and Ive been driving for about 2 months now on my own, and over a yr with adults, doin about 200 miles a week.... I know everyone has to have an accident eventually but this seems kinds early....

This is the only damage done to my truck and I'm gonna get it checked for a price at the body shop tomorrow.

I also was only doin about 10 mph.. how much you think this here should cost, and if you're up to date with body work price,how much would a fair price for hers be?

Do you have any pics of hers? Sounds like shes just tryin to rip you off. There is like almost no damage to yours, and supposedly hers is gonna be 3 grand? I think not.

Heck, 10mph will damn near total a Hyundai! Sorry about the accident. I had my fair share when I started driving. Just because she says $3000 doesn't mean the insurance co. will see it that way.

Let your Insurance handle it. In the policy it will say you must report all accidents.
Let them fight it out they do it a lot more then anyone else. And thats way you pay the bill.

id say a grand atleast when its all said and done....i think she'd only need a new bumper or something

Yeah no picture or anything, I was too busy lookin at the traffic jam i just caused haha.
and yeah I guess 10 mph is enough to do some damage to these plastic econo boxes these days. Exactly, I'm gonna let the insurance co's battle this one out themselves. Thanks guys.

ok say for instance i had my truck and you hit me in the bumper... if yours did your "limited" damage and mine got 3k bucks worth id burn the thing and go get a truck just like yours!!!!!! her car is a very cheap made car but im not sure its that cheap get your insurance company to look at hers before they settle

Sorry to here about your accident. I think she is trying to bull**** you with her 3 grand quote.

Last winter the first day we had got a very little amount of snow I was out driving and I ended up rear ending a lady in a chevy minivan with my F350. She got her van checked out by two shops and they both said there was $0 worth of damage to her van. I was really surprised actually since I was prepared for the worst. I couldnt believe my F350 had more damage then her chevy minivan.



Also that was my first accident ever at the age of 20. It really sucks the first time you ruin that perfect driving record.
