thinking about 08 V10
I found out that i have bearing issues in my t-case and i no longer want to put money into this 03. I also have looked at some newer 6.0s and they haven't had very good oasis reports. I don't want to spend twice as much as i did on this 03 for a truck that is less reliable. I have been looking for a 7.3 again, but they are so hard to find up here with lower miles. Anyways i found a few nice crews with v10's and i know they are good engines, but what is the real world mpg on em. 12-15 i suppose? If anyone could tell me if they have had em and like em i would appreciate it. Here is the link to the 08 i was thinking about. Another plus about the 08 is i don't have to do any rust repairs.

i had a v10 in a f-450, i loved it, the 7.3 is better in every way imaginable in my opinion. theres plenty of them in the Ga area where i'm at, and you wont find rust on any of them, thought about buyin down south and drivin it back? the economy is still really slow here and there are good deals everywhere. just a thought

I have an 01 X and got a little over 15 mpg but the 08 with the 3 valves per cylinder and the 5 speed tranny should be better I think

I would drive south to look for them, but i would have to get rid of mine first.

The v10 is a good motor untill about 125k miles, They will not be like a diesel motor either after 100k miles, The power and torque go down as the miles go up, you will regret the v10 every day, /my fiances dad has had a 01, 04, 07, and now 08 v10 all reg cabs except the 08, he got a constant 10-11 mpg city, 12-13 highway, 6-8 towing,

I have seen lots of those with over 200k on em. I don't expect them to be all the same, but i know they are good motors. On that 06, i already looked at one this weekend and there is no way i am gonna look at another 6.0. The amount of money i will spend to "make it reliable" is all money i could put into a 7.3 for fun mods.
