Ford Rangers

Do any of you guys know much about Rangers? I'm on a ranger forum but it kinda sucks. Takes days to get a response and the responses usually suck.

I'm just wondering what kind of things i can do to my ranger to get more power and fuel mileage. Its a 1989 with a 2.3L 4 cylinder with a 5 speed.

Drop in a turbo from a turbocoupe,svo,xr4ti which is all the same turbo and it should be bolt-on also those 2300 motors last forever

I like that idea but i dont have that kind of money. I dont need anything real big. Its pretty much just my work/drive around truck. Im just lookin for cheaper easier stuff. I only paid $350 for it.

Turboing it would be freakin sweet though. How much would that kind of setup cost?

U can get that stuff cheap off eBay or junkyard like a couple hundred bucks for the whole setup

Hm... got me thinkin now. how much power will that add?

It depends on how much boost you go and you may need inj also but if you go to the junk yard u just take the set off the car u pull the turbo off but if you go off wga boost you could be looking at 50 more hp

Most factory turbo cars run computer controled boost so that the PCM can control the boost levels for different temps and alitude so the wga (waste gate) would only have a 4-7 lbs spring and if it hooked up to a sol to be able to increase the boost levels to 10-18 or to whatever the factory programes it to

A sol? I'm a diesel guy, i don't know chit about gas turbo charged engines.
