5.4 chip?

hey guys, doing a little research to help my buddy out. hes got an 03 5.4 superduty and he asked me what to go with for chips.. im not familiar with gas chips.. i know on diesels its custom or nothing basically, but i don't think its anywhere close on the gas models.

anybody have any insight on which chips are decent, and just basic tips on them.. hes obviously looking for performance, and MPG is a plus if at all possible.

maybe a reference for a 5.4 specific forum? im not sure of any specific sites for them.

There arent any real gains from chipping a gasser. Programming alone all you will get is a 15 hp gain max. Maybe a half mile per gallon fuel economy increase

thats what i've always thought.. read up a little and it seemed like people were usually happy with a programmer.. didn't say how much they got out of it, but thanks for the info Dave!

LOL, now you know better than to ask diesel guys about chip'n a gasser. but seriously a super charger and custom tuning is the only way to make a fifty four speak up.

I had a superchips on my 5.4 f150 and it was a waist...talk to powerhungry performance, they have custom tunes for the 5.4

i got a whole procharger setup for sale for the 5.4L 3 valve....

chipped alot of gasser and it is worth it not going to lie just chipped a 08 f.5 f 250 with sct and it kick it in the as* i would deff. say use sct on it it does help with mpg and can really fell a diffrence..... and you can also get custom tunes later on if need. but i say for the ford sct,diablo sport, bullydog,superchips,edge, then hypertec thats the order i say is best to less best..... i say sct and he would be happy. php im sure has something to offer to

the best tunes for a 5.4 are a grphyon tuner they make the most out of any tunes and all it is. is a edge prgrammer reflashed and able to download custom tunes thats what php has
