2001 Excursion V-10 things...

Im looking into buying a 2001 Excursion with the V-10. It has 132000 miles, 4 wheel drive, cloth interior and the outside looks very nice. What should I be looking for under the hood or else where to ensure its a sound vehicle? Im a fairly decent wrench turner so little things aint a biggy. Its the big things Im worried about. Also is 8 grand a fair price? Thanks for the help!!

I've seen 00 and 01's with miles for as low as 6k around here. Are you doing a swap?

No swap!!! This is going to be a family wagon!! A 95 Jetta with 2 car seats in the back just aint cutting it, nor am I comfortable with it. Time for something bigger.

8k is too much. there are only 4 threads holding the sparkplugs in the aluminum heads. have been known to be blown out of the head. I know from experience. I would give 4500.
