6.8L ?

I am thinking of getting a 2001 6.8L with 43,000 miles. I am wondering what ya"ll think about this engine far as power,and anything else like mpg,reliability,hp ect.

i had a 00' mileage was around 13mpgs made decent power. I put 35,000 miles on it while i owned it. sold it with 78,000 never had a problem with the motor, it was the auto tranny i hated. and i could never make the exhaust sound good. i would probly still own it but the body was getting rough, Somebody did sum crappy body wurk on the pass. side. good luck

We had one at the Rental store and used it to deliver small excavators, skid steer, man lifts. It towed 10,000lbs all the time and at well over 100,000 we never did anything but routine maintenance. I think 12-13mpg was normal, under 10 towing a good load.

My dad has the V10 in his 04 Harley 250 and it does good. around 12~13 mpg as said and just under 10 towing. We don;t run it daily or anything. I liked it and thought it had good power (til I bought the 6.0 ) But they are good motors. I just wish he had waited until 05 to buy one so he would have the Torqshift tranny.
