My wife's truck (2006 DODGE Quad Cab 1500 5.7 4x4) has an AFE intake, cat back Flowmaster exhaust and a Hypertech programmer, and I could tell a difference when we installed the programmer. A little more pep, plus you can adjust shift point, firmness, codes, etc. She is still mad she can't get 100hp from her programmer like we can in out diesels!! LOL Oh and fuel economy went up 2-3 MPG. Seriously she gets MUCH better gas mileage now.

tuners for cars are not worth teh money in my book. gasser aren't like diesels. on a gasser the tuner might say 100 extra hp but you may get 25 and on a diesel if it says 100 more then likely you will get 100 or may slightly less. you ca do so much more with a diesel i think. but i am diesel freak and work on huge 16 cylinder engines to rated at 10k hp.

My father has an Edge Evolution on his 05 F150, it's pretty cool. Has a lot of features and you can do a lot with it. He likes it, his truck is stock too; except with the Evo. It's safe to use. He gets 16MPG "city driving" with an extended cab shortbed 4x4.

Tuners can do a lot for a gas motor. N/A motors you can do a lot of mods too, included the Modular motors, but most people always go to aspiration changes such as Turbo or a Blower, and Nitrous - thats where you make the real power IMO but then you get into a lot of other stuff, just like with any diesel being modified.

Air/Fuel tuning is an important part in tuning a gas motor as well.

I'd take a look at what Edge has to offer if you aren't planning to go too crazy.
