Tampa area PSD shops?
Pointed over from here:
Any Performance Diesel Shop's (6.0 Friendly) In Tampa Bay area? Interested in finding someone that can do general repairs, as well as a history of satisfied customers who they've bulletproofed. Two shops keep coming up in my search: 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel Repair - Home Has a lot of videos on Youtube of trucks they've worked on. Plus has references to bulletproofing on their website. Greg Lane Automotive | Tampa, FL 33610 Seems to be an ex-Ford mechanic. Not much info. Any experiences with these 2, or others in the area? |

Had a buddy get some work done at Twisted Metal Offroad. He was very pleased with it.
Tell them Kevin Tucker (my buddy) referred you. Twisted Metal Offroad Fabrication and Diesel |

I met the guy advertising in the first link, and he does a lot of work. Seems pretty knowledgeable and he does a lot of work. I'd consider taking my truck there if I didn't have other options available to me.
I highly recommend Dash Automotive on Causeway. One of my best friends is working there now after several years working as a Ford Diesel Tech. In fact, my truck is at his house right now for some side work. Depending on what you want to have done and my friend's schedule, he may be able to take your truck as a side job and save you some money. This is the one working for Dash. Yet another option is Twisted Metal Offroad, also on Causeway. Good friends with the owner and they do a lot of 6.0 work. |

I'm going to be doing my HG myself if I get the time, my question is do these shops do there own head work?
I'm in Fort Myers and and FMA says they can do the 6.0's but I have no problem driving or shipping my heads to get the best guy for the job. Just wondering who you guys like for machine shops? Note: FMA does all our marine diesel heads and they do a good job but we all know that the 6.0 aint your average engine. |

They use local machine shops to check the heads.
Couple of good places up here are Nelson Competition and Eisele's. Mine will be going to Eisele's only because that's where 6.0 Joe sends his. |

Good to know, let me know what you think of them.

Will do. Both places are supposed to be great, and I couldn't decide which place I wanted to use. Figured it makes sense to go to the place where most of the 6.0 heads in this area are taken. Getting dropped off this am.
