500$ oil change at Lexus of Orlando!

Me and wife came to visit family from california this weekend. She dropped her car off at Lexus of Orlando for recall and rearview mirror replacement (all under warranty). She comes home and their is a 30k mile service charge but no itemized billing with signature before work was started. Are we screwed? Figured I would ask some Florida people before I call them back up on monday. The bill was originally 786$ but they took some stuff off. I knew I should of gone with her!

If she did not authorize the 30K service, then she should not have to pay for it. I work at an independant shop in Houston where we specialize in Lexus. I hear about this happening at the local dealerships quite often. The customer is supposed to be notified and the dealership is supposed to get approval before any work is done.

Seems like if the 30k mile service needed to be done $500 is a deal considering it's usually around $700:

Replace engine oil and oil filter, Replace engine air filter, Replace engine coolant, Replace Brake fluid, Replace air conditioner filter, Re-torque flange bolts, Fuel tank cap gasket, Rotate tires, Road test vehiclem Courtesy car wash and interior vacuum.

Inspect the Following:
Fuel lines and connections, fuel tank, vapor vent system hoses, fuel tank band, Fuel tank cap gasket, Exhaust pipes and mountings, Brakes: linings, discs/drums,lines, hoses, Steering linkages, Rack and pinion assy. For leakage, Ball joints and dust covers, Transmission, transfer case, and differential oil, Inspect body/chassis nuts and bolts, Active height control system

You got a deal on a service that needed to be performed, and it was done by the dealer. I'd just be happy that now you don't have to worry about it.

Id have a fit, Where i work NOTHING can be done without customer approval. Id go back there and demand your money back, or refuse to pay if you haven't yet.

30k service is 389$. Only reason we are mad is that we just had it done 1,000 miles ago. They charged her to remove 2 dents but reimbursed her for that because I called to tell them to give her the itemized list showing her signature. This isn't what I want to be doing on vacation.

I'd go up there and demand them to make it free since you didnt need it nor authorized it.

Can get all your money back if you didnt sign the R/O. Orlandos pretty bad when even us Florida folk don't go there lol. They used to push them stupid things on me when I was a Ford & Dodge. It's an easy way for the dealer to make $$.
