Ball Joints?

Anyone ever replaced their ball joints? Mine are shot and need to be replaced. The quotes I have gotten are $800-900 and I dont have that kind of cheese right now. I also had $2000 in tools stolen so I don't have any tools to my name anymore. I think I heard I need a press to get them back in, is this true?

Very true, you do need a press. It can be done with a big hammer but this way is not recommmended. Usually you can rent a press from auto parts stores and you really dont need much for tools to do it. 8-900 bucks for a ball joint job...wow Last time i did mine it took about 4 hours but i did bearings and seals too.
